This drive will ONLY work on ION games (EVO, Elite Edge, Aurora, Rx, and Upright) that have the Asus or Intel motherboards! If your game has a purple ECS board in it, THIS HARD DRIVE WILL NOT WORK. The ECS boards do not have sATA ports. Check my other auctions for the IDE version of this drive.
For years, I've sold the best Megatouch parts you can buy. I was selling new drives when everyone else was selling used (click here for more info). But because of changes in technology, it's become very difficult to find new IDE hard drives. The reason for this is that computers have been using sATA drives for a few years now, as they are better, faster, etc. Unfortunately, there are still a bunch of Megatouch games out there that need IDE drives.
Because of that demand, I've finally worked up a solution that will make everyone happy! This is a hard drive that has "flash" memory. The advantages are that this is smaller, produces less heat, and has no moving parts. The data access times and speed of the drive are the same as any other IDE drive. The drive is the same physical size as the original drives, and has the same 2.5" IDE connector(see 2nd picture for a comparison - it's exactly the same). So this will plug straight into your game!
The ONLY possible downside to this SSD drive is that it is SLIGHTLY more expensive than a regular IDE drive. However, if you are an operator, and factor in downtime/gas/hassle/frustration/location being upset with you because "The game is down again", it's a very simple choice.
Included in this auction is everything seen in the first picture. It is everything you need to plug this drive directly into your game. This drive has been updated to the very latest version of the ION 2011.5 software!
Why is this drive more expensive than the others on eBay? Because they are selling you OLD USED DRIVES. This one is BRAND NEW! Don't be fooled by others claims of their drives being "refurbished". Google it. You CAN'T refurbish a hard drive! It's a motor. When they break, you throw it away! Buy this, and you'll never have to worry about it again.
Shipping: This item will be shipped via UPS Ground to the continental 48. I am now using UPS Ground for most of my shipments. If you want it faster, or live outside the 48, let me know, and I'll give you a total.
